This year, The FAT Paint Company is proud to sponsor the Town & Country Vintage Market taking place at the stunning Apple Barn of Taves Family Farm in Abbotsford, BC. This outdoor venue gives shoppers plenty of room to wonder around and discover the hidden treasure among the 50 plus booths and resident farm animals. The Taves Family Farm will be providing fresh local food for everyone to enjoy. This week, we invited market host Naomi Corr to share why she loves FAT Paint as well as a few of her latest projects to inspire your inner artisan.

Be sure to come check out Town & Country Vintage Market happening June 25th from 9:30-3:00!

I fell in love with refinishing furniture a number of years ago. My first piece was an old dresser I saw in the garbage room at my brother’s apartment building. As the old saying goes, someone’s trash is another one’s treasure! A new coat of paint, some handles, and a little distressing took this piece of garbage and transformed it into Shabby Chic Perfection! I still treasure this piece to this day as it sits in my bedroom where I can look at it fondly as my very first creation.

As I came across FAT Paint years later for the first time, I realized it is easy enough for anyone to take a project and turn it into their own personal treasure. FAT Paint is so versatile that I use it on so many different avenues. From mason jars to furniture, or even fabrics such as pillows and table runners. If I want to enhance a project even further, then my go to product is Extra FAT Embossing and Texture Medium. The details that this can add on a piece of furniture when using a stencil creates interest to draw not just the eye, but the fingertips as well. FAT Paint products fully encompass the senses for us budding creative types.

As a person who loves to paint furniture, if I had to give only one piece of advice, it would be to really embrace the imperfections in your creations as they are truly what makes a piece so perfect. So go out and find that perfect piece! Grab a can of FAT Paint and embrace the FATastic journey.
